YVETTE and my Parsian Guest Room...Part One

I  have  always   loved  "different"  art.  My  Amy  was  the

same  way.  My  handsome  son  Richie  had  a  "different"  art

also....SPORTS  and  MOVIES.   His  brain  is  like  a  file  that

can  answer  any  question  you  have  about  sports  or

movies.  He  was  in  plays,  speech  competitions,  and

Shakespeare  in  the  Park...so  he  is  a  "different"  artist  also.

One  day,  about  twelve  years  ago,  I  was  looking  around  at

an  estate  sale,  and  their  my  Yvette  layed...in  a  dirty  old  box

and  a  pink  dot  that  said  .50  cents.

I  told  her  she  was  beautiful  and  she  was  going  to  a

home  that  would  love  her.

Amy  loved  her  also  and  so  Yvette  took  turns  living  with  me

and  Amy.

Our  guest  room  has  plenty  of  light  and  sun  light  floods

it  during  the  day  but  the  pictures  were  not  taking  very

well  tonight.

In  the  mirror  you  can  see  my  antique  wall  hat  holder.

Also  some  of  my  vintage  purses...you  will  see  it  up  close

in  part  two.

The  picture  is  an  antique...

It is signed by the artist  in  french  and  it  looks  like  it  was

signed  in  pencil.

If  you  can  imagine  the  owner  of  the  shop  wanted

$250.00.  Well  over  the  months  I  would  go  in  and  drool

over  it.  Then  something  amazing  happened...she  started

lowering  the  prices  of  it  and  everything  in  her  shop.

ARE  YOU  SETTING  DOWN...I  BOUGHT  IT  FOR

$5.00...FIVE  DOLLARS.

I love  to  lay  on  the  bed  and  dream  about  Paris  and

walking  over  an  old  bridge  just  like  that.

I  painted  the  headboard  to  match  a  huge  mirror  on

the  wall  facing  the  foot  of  the  bed.  I  couldn't  find

the  paint  can  to  tell  you  the  color  Mr.  Simply  and  I

painted  this  room  but  it  was  the  rage  about  6  years  ago.

There  is  a  scalloped  wide  border  of    maroon  and

  white  roses.  It  is

so  pretty.

You  can  see  my  vintage  phone.  It  still  has  the  rubber

wires  with  it...no  numbers  you  dial...you  just  picked

up  the  receiver  and  had  a  certain  number  of  clicks

that  identified  you  to  the  operator.   I  use  to  collect

vintage  phones.  I  love  them.  I  am  looking  for  a

vintage  tin  toy  phone  in  red.

The  black  hat  beside  the  phone  was  Mr.  Simply's  Granny

Montgomery's  hat.  I  feel  honored  to  have  it  and  I  have

her  black  shoes.  She  was  precious.  I  also  painted  the  two

shelves  to  match  the  headboard...they  come  together  at  the

corner  of  the  room...and  the  cross  hangs  in  the  middle.

I  was  not  one  of  the  fortunate  ones  who  received  large

pictures  of  relatives  and  when  I  saw  this  beautiful  vintage

picture  in  this  huge,  heavy,  ornate  frame  for  $10.00  I

snapped  her  right  up.  Now  I  tell  every  one  she  is  the

Parisian  lady  who  rents  my  guest  room  until  we  have

company  and  then  she  flies  back  to  Paris  for  a  few  days...lol

NOT  THE  FRAME  BUT  THE  PICTURE  IS  AT  LEAST

100  YEARS  OLD...I  don't  understand  a  family  selling  a

family  photo  like  that  to  strangers.

I  am  looking  for  a  french  mail  box  to  put  mail  in

for  her....

As  you  can  tell  I  LOVE  ROOSTERS  AND  CHICKENS.

Some  are  collectable,  some  are  made  from  cloth,  some

are  patriotic,  and  some  shabby  chic.  They  are  in  every

room  but  the  bathrooms.

Thank  you  for  dropping  by  to  see  me  today.

~~~~~~~~~~
And  now  let's  share  some  words  from  PSALMS.
i  waited  patiently  for  the  LORD;
and  he  inclined  unto  me,  and
heard  my  cry.
He  brought  me  up  also  out  of  an
horrible  pit,
out  of  the  miry  clay,
and  set  my  feet  upon  a  rock,
and  established  my  goings,
and
HE  PUT  A  NEW  SONG
IN  MY  MOUTH.
Psalm  40: 1-3a
~~~~~~~~~

A  new  song  in  my  mouth,

keeps  SPRING  ALIVE  IN  MY  HEART

AND  KEEP  YOU  UNTIL  WE  BLOG  AGAIN.

REMEMBER...YOU  HAVE  A  NAME  AND

YOU  ARE  IMPORTANT  AND  LOVED  BY

JESUS  AND  ME.

JESUS  CARES  ABOUT  THE  LITTLEST  OF  THINGS

AND  THE  BIGGEST  OF  THINGS.  HE  JUST

WANTS  TO  BE  INCLUDED  IN  YOUR  LIFE.

HAVE  A  SUGAR  SWEET  DAY

Simply  Debbie

What a lovely room! And I always wonder the same thing when I go to antique malls and browse through all the photographs from so many years ago...who would sell their family photo's?

I'm sure your "Parisian guest" loves the room, imaginary guests are the easiest to entertain:) Have a wonderful day!

What a cute guest room, Debbie, with all sorts of neat and fun things. I like your "renter" and that cute little hanger is the best. When I get out of the house again, I will keep my eyes peeled for a red child's phone. Love Granny Montgomery's hat (I saved my dad's glasses and have them displayed in a cabinet) and your collections. I see why you want to lie on the bed in there and look at your pretties.

And I love that scripture. A very good choice, indeed.

Warm hugs...

XO,

Sheila :-)
