Sunday was a beautiful winter day, that was definitely
"Keepin' Spring Alive in my heart!"
We live 3 blocks from Meadow Lake Park in our
town and if you walked across Meadow Lake Park,
you would come out on the 13th tee of Meadow Lake
Golf Course.
THERE HAS BEEN A WHOLE LOT OF HONKING
GOING ON...Canadian Geese Honking that is.
We could hear the geese from our bedroom and see
them flying in formation over our house.
We live approximately 2 miles from Vance Air Force
Base. Our house is in their flight path. I don't know
what danger this could pose with the pilots, since it seems
to also be the flight pattern of the beautiful Canadian
Geese.
I did some research when we got home and it seems the
states of Oklahoma and Ohio have had an increase from
20,000 Canadian Geese in the 1950's to over 140,000
in 2005. The article said they are more and more coming to
nest in highly populated areas...such as universities and
well, this is difficult to say, but they are messy. One
Canadian Goose drops 1 and a quarter pounds of poo...yucky...
"every" day...well, when a goose has to poo....a goose has
to poo...it is not like there are little Canadian Geese
toilets at every park and college campus...but wouldn't
they be cute, especially in pink...lol
Sunday afternoon on the way to Amy's grave site, I looked
over and Meadow Lake Park (lake) was covered in
Canadian Geese. My Mr. Simply and I always carry our
camera, so we pulled in, parked, and my hubby started
clicking pictures. The honking was sooooo loud and it
never stopped.
It was sooooo awesome when they took flight. Talk
about the sound of Angel Wings... they fly and cross over
each other like the
famous Blue Angels. I was in a trance as I watched them
in flight and then land again...honking all the time.
You can still see the ice at the edge of the lake.
LOOK at this perfect family...I thought that was just the sweetest.
The article I read said they mate for life and only find a
different mate if their mate dies...They are better at marriage
than most humans. They are really interesting to study.
It was such a lovely time watching the geese Sunday
afternoon. The weather was just so very
delightful...and I felt BLESSED to be a part of
the day with Mr. Simply, Our God and the
Honking Canadian Geese.

Hi Debbie, What a beautiful post. What a refreshing getaway you had from the TV, videos, and internet.
Great post!
*hugs*
LOVE THE VERSE YOU SHARED "GIVE THEM A HEART....".
GEESE MAKE THE COOLEST SOUND WHEN THEY FLY OVER. OCCASIONALLY I HAVE BEEN OUTSIDE A LARGE GROUP WILL PASS OVERHEAD. THEY FLY SO LOW THEY BARELY CLEAR THE ROOF OF MY HOUSE. BUT THE SOUND IS ALMOST A BUZZ OF ZZZZZZZZZ'S. VERY COOL!
DEB
We have lots of Canadian geese around here. I love to watch them but when there are so many they tend to leave a huge mess behind, ie watch where you're walking.
Beautiful photos Debbie and some VERY interesting facts....wow all that POO.....YUCK! How true & sad they know more about marriage than some humans......
Hugs,
Lynn
I love ýour phptos of the blue monday.
But there is another photo that touched me deeply.
It is the photo of this young soldier who caresses the cat.
He looks so young. There are to many people involved in war and fighting, and all they want and need is love.
Have a great day
Janine
Great post and pictures - I didn't know all that - very interesting.

Wow that is a goggle of geese. I love to hear them passing over. I have never seen that many though. We live about 10 miles from Bernheim Forest and there are hundreds of them on the lakes there. Blessings to you and yours.

Hi Debbie! I am very glad that you entered my give-away. I almost gave up blogging yesterday when another blogger bullied me. Now that I have learned that this same blogger is copying a blogging friend of mine ~ I have decided to keep on blogging and not allowed to be cyber-bullied. I'm standing for decency.
Lots of love,
Susan
