I received this picture and 8 others in an e mail from a
friend yesterday.
This one took my breath away. How glorious it would be to
watch the sun come up setting in that spot.
It is just so stunning.
This scripture came to mind:
And they were calling to one another:
"Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of HIS GLORY."
~Isaiah 6: 3

JANUARY ARTFUL BAG CHALLENGE
OUR CREATOR AND HOSTESS OF
THE ARTFUL BAG CHALLENGE IS
THE LOVELY
ANNA
WHO HAS THE BLOG
FROSTED PETUNIAS.
HER ART IS FULL OF BEAUTIFUL COLOR.
TO VISIT ANNA AND SEE THE PURSES MADE BY
OTHER ARTISTS GO TO
Each month we will have a new theme.
January's Theme is
PLAYING WITH PAPER.
This is my purse.
It is a clutch purse.
I am also participating in
DRESS UP 2011.
Our theme there is based this month on
IMPRESSIONIST ART.
I made my purse as a clutch purse to
go with (but not be matchy-matchy)
my paper dress.
I swung by the seat of my pants on this challenge.
I was never good at GEOMETRY but using one of my
vintage clutch purses, I sketched out a template.
I scanned a scrap of material I had and then glued
the copy to my template made from card stock.
I wanted it to have the look of a vintage purse that
was timeless....but what we want verses what we produce
are two different things...lol
A simple purse can be made stunning by the jewels
on it.
I used colored pencils on my butterfly magnetic
closure and coated it in my secret ingredient, which
gave it a look and feel of cloisonne.
I was very pleased with the butterfly and the fact it
was a true purse made totally from paper.
The back was not so pretty as you can see the seam.
PRAYER REQUESTS
PHOTO FROM FIRST FLOOR FLAT
The PRAYER requests are the same as yesterday but we
have some new ones.
Mr. C and wife Mrs. D
requested prayer for two students who both
lost a parent in the same week...
ANGEL DAWN: Nezzy reported she is very weak and
has a feeding tube. Let me tell you, (I know this for
fact because of Amy also having cancer as a child)
they pull out all stops on the children...their immune
systems come back quicker than adults and I told
Amy's pediatric oncologist, Dr. Hensley, what good
will it do you to kill the cancer if you kill my
daughter. I hope most of you never have to visit
a pediatric oncology clinic...screams, cries by both
children and parents, wasted little anemic bodies and
just when they begin to feel good again...it is another
round of chemo. Angel Dawn needs our prayers as
well as ALEX AND JACK.
AND KEEP YOU UNTIL WE BLOG AGAIN.
THANK YOU FOR DROPPING BY TO SEE MY

Hi Debbie, I was glad to see the Linky finally worked for you. Thank you for the lovely words and for the inspiring photo. Your purse is adorable! Love that you made a clutch and scanning fabric for your paper is brilliant. You can probably tell that I love butterflies too and the one you made looks gorgeous. I bet it's stunning in person. Thank you so much for sharing and for playing along. Have a beautiful weekend. :)
Anna
How stunning is this Debbie. Love the butterfly. I did try to scan in a bit closer for more detail but couldn't. Very vintagey (think I might just have invented a word here)look to it. Off to see your dress next.
Debbie, I think there's a little problem. You put my website address in your message about the terrible accident that happened with the two children but that isn't my post. There is another site with a similar address but I checked it and she hasn't posted in almost a year. Just thought I needed to let you know. Love the butterfly purse.
This is the second post that I have seen about the paper purses. You gals are just too clever. The purses look real.
Hello sweet friend! Your blog header is absoulutely stunning! I am so excited for you about this! I have tears this morning and they just won't stop but I miss my bloggey friends and my house is quiet so I am going to type through the tears. Your purse is so super cute and creative, you have a beautiful talent with your creations they are so original, detailed, pretty and heart felt. Thank you for visiting me, some days i can't get to my computer at all, i try to give my kids alot of me and so i leave very little time for myself. Anyway, have a blessed day.
Hugs,
Olivia
Hi Debbie, This purse is sweet and wonderful. I love everything about it and yes, it is timless. Thank you for giving out the idea of scanning a piece of fabric, I would have never thought of that...Totally brilliant.
Debbie,
I love the idea of scanning fabric. I adore your clutch purse.
Michele
Dearest Debbie,
Just like you, I always try to lift up those less fortunate around us... For quite a while I've been following the blog of Rose Marie from Puerto Rico. Her sister-in-law (I first thought her sister...) has cancer and lives in the US with her brother. For quite a while now I have not heard from her and she usually blogs daily! Please read this previous blog of mine http://bit.ly/fNj6gg and I wish more people would have reacted than only the 5 that did so far.
But certainly she needs some prayers.
Lots of love and may God bless you for all you do!

Very lovely clutch!
Hi Debbie, I just love your handbag. It is absolutely beautifully made.
Lovely clutch bag!
Your little pillow box bag is so sweet !
Your bag is magnificent - it really has a beautiful look and I want to have something like this in real life now (sigh) - I shall have to content myself with this lovely eye candy instead. I love vintage purses too and it really is amazing that this is a first for you because it came out wonderfully!
When I saw the photo you shared in this post I immediately thought - This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!
Congrats on winning Anna's giveaway ! Wanted to let you know I've just sent out Purse Pizzazz to you. Hope you find lots of inspiration from it.
