"What Is The First Name Of The Lady Who Cleans The School?"

JUST  THE  CLEANING  LADY!!!

Although I  was  a  nurse  for  20  plus  years,  this  is  not

my  story....but  it  is  a  good  one.

During  my  second  year  of  nursing  school  our  professor

gave  us  a  quiz..   I  breezed  through  the  questions  until  I

read  the  last  one:

"WHAT  IS  THE  FIRST  NAME  OF  THE  WOMAN  WHO

CLEANS  THE  SCHOOL?"

Surely  this  was  a  joke.   I  had  seen  the  cleaning  woman

several  times,  but  how  would  I  know  her  name?  I  handed

in  my  paper,  leaving  the  last  question  blank.

Before  the  class  ended,  one  student  asked  if  the  last

question  would  count  toward  our  grade.

"Absolutely,"  the  professor  said.

"In  your  careers,  you  will  meet  many  people.

ALL  are  significant.   They  deserve  your  attention  and

care,  even  if  all  you  do  is  smile  and  say  hello."

I've  never  forgotten  that  lesson.   I  also  learned   her

name  was  DOROTHY.

~Joann  C.  Jones

This  story  keeps  SPRING  very  much  alive  in  my

heart.

"Don't  just  pretend  to  love  others.

Really  love  them.

Hate  what  is  wrong.

Hold  tightly  to  what  is  good.

Love  each  other  with  genuine  affection,  and  take  delight

in  honoring  each  other.

Never  be  lazy,  but  work  hard  and  serve  the  LORD

enthusiastically.

Rejoice  in  our  confident  hope.

Be  patient  in  trouble,  and  keep  on  praying.

When  God's  people  are  in  need,  be  ready  to

help  them.

Always  be  eager  to  practice  hospitality."

Romans  12: 9-13  NLT

I  THINK  IF  THE  WORLD  LIVED  THIS  SCRIPTURE,

THERE  WOULD  BE  NO  WARS,  NO  HATE,  NO

JEALOUSY,  NO  SHOOTINGS,  AND  THERE

WOULD  BE  NO  DRUGS  AND  DRUG  DEALERS

DESTROYING  OUR  CHILDREN'S  LIVES.

THERE  WOULD  BE  NO  CHILD  MOLESTERS

AND  PARENTS  ABUSING  THEIR  CHILDREN.

SOUNDS  LIKE  HEAVEN  TO  ME.

ALL  I  CAN  DO  IS  TRY  TO  MAKE

  A  DIFFERENCE

BY  THE  WAY  I  LIVE  WHILE  I  AM  HERE

ON  THIS  EARTH.

and  keep  you  in  safety  and  peace  until  we

blog  again.

I  LOVE  FOR  YOU  to  stop  by  and  visit  me.

It  is  like  sunshine  on  a  warm  day.

Have  a  Sugar  Sweet  Day.

Great, great story, sweetpea! I agree with that teacher. All people who enter your life have an impact on it, no matter large or small.

I agree. Every person is important, great or small, and sometimes the small become the great and the great become the small. But every person is important.

I have always loved the scripture about hospitality because we never know when we might be entertaining angels and unaware of it.

Sending warm hugs and sunshine your way, Debbie...

XO,

Sheila :-)

Hello Debbie,

A simple story, and yet what impact it gave. You are so true, if only we learn to stop and look around us . . try to be more aware of one another . . . after all we are all connected one way or the other.

A smile can really make a difference in one's day.

Mizpah,
Li

awesome story Debbie!! We should all take notes. :) Everyone that crosses our path in our lifetime leaves some kind of footprint on our life...we should certainly know they're name. :)
Have a super evening my friend.

Dear Debbie,

I came across a comment you left on my blog way back when. In it you expressed a deep feeling of loss. I remember how it touched me so deeply then.

About a week ago I fell into a tremendously dark place and missed my sweet son (gone to be with the Lord over 6 years now). Your comment from long ago reached out to me and I thank you. I thank you for sharing from the heart.

I agree with this post wholeheartedly -- the world would be a much better place if we all lived Romans 12:9-13. I join you in practicing this love and doing my part.
