BIRDS SING AFTER A STORM,
WHY SHOULDN'T PEOPLE FEEL AS
FREE TO DELIGHT IN WHATEVER
SUNLIGHT REMAINS TO THEM?
~ROSE KENNEDY (1890-1995)
EACH ONE OF YOU HAVE TOUCHED MY HEART IN
A SPECIAL WAY. YOU ARE SUCH AN INSPIRATION.
I HAVE CRIED WITH YOU AND LAUGHED WITH YOU.
THEY SAID IN HAITI, YOU CAN HEAR PEOPLE SINGING
AND GIVING PRAISES TO THE LORD FOR THEIR LIFE.
THESE ARE THE POOREST OF POOR LIVING ON LESS THAN
$300.00 A YEAR AND MAKE MUD CAKES FOR THEIR CHILDREN
TO EAT SO THEIR STOMACHS WILL FEEL FULL.
IT MAKES ME WEEP FOR THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION
IN HAITI.........AND THEY SING PRAISES TO THE LORD.
DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER BLESS THEM WITH MIRACLES
AND THE HEALTH CARE THEY NEED.
HEALING AND RESTORATION
PEACE AND SECURITY
FOOD AND WATER
ALSO MAY WE REMEMBER THESE PEOPLE IN PRAYER:
ELIZABETH AND ROY, JACKIE, SHARON, ASHLEY, CLYTIE,
CINDY, WILL, CASS, SALLY, TERESA, JOHNNY, HP, KRISTIE,
CASEY J, DONNA, PATRICIA, DORIS AND RICHARD, TAWNA
AND MIKE, JEFF AND ROBBI, RICHARD, AND ALL UNNAMED
PRAYER REQUESTS.
THE LORD WILL GIVE STRENGTH UNTO HIS
PEOPLE;
THE LORD WILL BLESS
HIS PEOPLE WITH
PEACE

Hi Debbie~ that is just so terrible what is happening in Haiti, my heart aches for them!
Thanks for reminding us all that even in the worst of times, there can be thankfulness.
Debbie,
The people of Haiti have so much devastation. I was watching on TV last night and it is so sad. You are in my thoughts and prayers everyday. I love Gracie Ann!
DEAR DEBBIE,
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR WONDERFUL FRIENDSHIP AND YOUR PRAYERS AND CONCERN FOR ME. YOU REALLY TOUCHED MY HEART WITH YOUR KINDNESS AND LOVE. WHAT A SWEET BLOG HERE, I JUST NOW FOUND IT. HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY AND GOD'S BLESSINGS TO YOU ALWAYS.
HUGS FROM FORT WORTH, TEXAS.
Beautiful Post, Debbie. May we all be willing to bind the bruised and broken, whenever and however we can.
Love to special friend.
Rebecca
I know, the Haiti situation tugs at my heart too. We know something good will come from this. I have heard some reporters state that maybe things will turn around for the country if other nations stick with them. They have had a lot of outside help but have never been able to provide for themselves for some reason. My daughter's family had a live-in from Haiti and he said anyone that appeared to have wealth got robbed and so no one wanted to have material things. Most of the food going in, goes to the resorts there. The government is no help for the people. They have a piddly PD and no government equipment to take care of themselves.

Oh Debbie, my heart is heavy for the people in Haiti, making a donation just doesn't seem enough.....prayers bring comfort and I cry to God to help any way using his great will can....I just want to pack my bags and go over to help if only to bring comfort by holding a baby or embracing the hurt......Let us all prayer for these poor yet beautiful people. Thank you for posting this.......:-) Hugs

Hi Debbie, Yes--let's all pray hard for the people in Haiti.. That's absolutely horrible. I've been watching Fox News --and the devastation there is unbelievable. We're going to give an extra check to the Salvation Army this month.
Hugs,

I really can't express how very powerfully that quote from Rose Kennedy has struck me -- and then to hear that the poor Haitians are actually singing is just astounding.
I hope the international community will come through for them -- NOW, anyway -- it's a terrible disaster and yet I have hope that perhaps their plight will finally result in an improvement in their lives?
We just never know when tragedy will strike our lives. It really makes you be thankful we have the necessities in our lives, especially the things like clean water, food and shelter. Coping without these things would make it a million times more difficult to deal with the really hard things, like the loss of loved ones.
Debbie so glad you stopped by and told me about your new blog....Us Debbie's need to stick together...there seems to be alot of us out here in Blogland...
Hi Debbie,
Birds do sing after a storm, great quote. To hear of these people singing just blesses my heart i need to remember that in my own life.
Haiti is on our hearts and minds as well as in our prayers. thank you for reminding me.
Blessings,
and Hugs,
Sue
Loved the way you began this Post with the quote by Rose Kennedy. I believe she wrote "A Portrait of My Heart" which was filled with her wise quips & quotes.
Still praying for your happiness and healing
