We have the French to thank for this fun day.
When King Charles IX adopted the new Gregorian
Calender and New Years Day shifted from
April 1 to January 1, many rebelled and
continued to celebrate "April Fish Day".
To this day, the French continue to be up to
something "fishy" on April 1.
When their victim is not looking, they tape
a paper fish on their back.
When they discover the prank everyone
yells out,
"le poisson d'avril"
"April Fish Day."

accident on Saturday at the sand dunes in
Glamis, CA.

Enjoyed reading about Fish Day. I do not remember hearing that before - very interesting.
Returned home this week after a few vacation days - so much to catch up on. I too love the ocean side, walking on the beach, drawing in the sand and making sand castles, looking to see what the waves brought in, and feeling the warmth of sun.
