ANY PICTURES FOR TWO WEEKS AND ALL
MY PERSONAL PICTURES ON OUR COMPUTER
SUCH AS OUR DAUGHTERS FUNERAL ARE
BEING POURED INTO SOMETHING CALLED
PICASA SO THE WHOLE INTERNET CAN LOOK
AT...I AM JUST SOOOO VERY HEART BROKEN.....I
TOLD YOU I WAS COMPUTER ILLITERATE AND
UNTIL I CAN GET A LITTLE BETTER AT
COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE, I WILL HAVE TO
STOP BLOGGING...IT ISN'T FUN WHEN YOU SPEND
YOUR TIME FRUSTRATED BECAUSE YOU CANNOT
GET ANYTHING TO WORK...OR GET ANY
ANSWERS FROM GOOGLE OR BLOGGER...AND

The first thing I would do is down load my photos back onto my pc- how I'm not sure and then- remove the picasa program from your computer.
I store all my photos on my pc and do not use an outside source.
I'll do some reaearch this weekend and see if I can find any help for this.

I'm guessing you have filled up your FREE blogger space and now need to purchase more space (it's $5/year - - - well worth it.) When you bring up the form where you try to download pictures to your blog, toward the bottom of that form it tells you about your blogger space and there is something there you can click to purchase more space.
Now, about the photos going into the picasa album, I don't know about that - - - but I BELIEVE that is how blogger "stores" your blog pictures and I think that happens to all pictures you use on your blog. Someone much more computer smart than I will need to help you with that. However, I'm pretty sure you can check something so that your picasa album is NOT visible to the entire internet.
You cannot remove individual pictures from the Picasa data base, only entire folders. Just right click on a folder and select "remove from Picasa". Be careful not to select "delete folder".

Make sure you begin with a small file or create a dummy file to try this on first and then see what happens.

Any photo you download through Blogger also goes on Picasa. That is always the case as Picasa is Google/Blogger's way of storing photos. Relax, it's okay. All my photos are stored in Picasa, too. Blogger has to have a way of storing your photos - if they didn't, the photos in your posts could disappear.
Now as to loading photos, this happened to my sister as well. Make sure when you upload a photo to your blog and you see it in the box that you click oh the photo so a little frame surrounds it. Then it will move onto you post. If you have a problem, email me and I can hopefully help you through it. This is a relatively new thing, and I think a good thing, because you can control just what photos appear on your posts.
Try it and see it it works.

One more thought, Debbie, if the photos of your daughter's funeral were uploaded to your blog, they will be stored in Picasa. If you delete them, they will disappear from your blog. Picasa isn't a site like flickr where lots of people look at your photos. It's a storage site.

You will need to go into your Picasa web album online and set it to private cause I don't think you can do it from the program alone....I have the program and I have a bunch of folders uploaded in the web albums some are set to private and some are not...you can go into the manager and choose which folders Picasa scans just unclick the folder that you don't want add to it...
any of the programs like that should have a setting you can change to private...I know photobucket does...

What happened to you might be what happened to me. At a certain point it would not let me download anymore, but something kept popping up, and what it is............is you have to purchase more space to store your photos on picasa, it is not real expensive, for a huge amount of space, so my hubby bought me more space for I think it was $5.00 and
everything has been fine since.
It annoyed me tho because I sorta
felt like it is a racket.....they store your pics and never tell you what it all means. They give you free storage and you don't even know they are storing them until all of a sudden you can not download them anymore. But if you want to blog you don't have much of a choice.
We figured $5.00 wasn't too bad.
You could start a new blog and then with that you get new photo storage I think some have done that. When my storage runs out I might do that too.
I was just wondering if that is how they get all the public domain pics. Makes you wonder!!
I am beginning to understand why
a lot of ladies have their names or blog names printed on their pics.
I think I might start doing that myself now that I realize they could be just using your pics to make money even.

Debbie, I am so sorry to hear about your problems with the pictures. I have not had that issue (yet) and am not really sure what the solution is. Hopefully one of the blogger techs can give you some insight. Doesn't seem like your pictures should be made public without your permission. What we choose to put on our blogs, yes, but not our personal files. I hope you get some resolution to this. Ann
I think because you have Blogger which is through Google you also have their free photo editing which is Picasa. If you go to google .com to photos you should find the web albums and mark them private where only you can see them.
Picasa should be just duplicates of your regular photo program but you can't delete them out of Picasa because it's part of blogspot.

I think your pictures will be safe with Picasa. I believe you can block your files. I know you can with Photobucket.
Hi Debbie I use Picassa to download all of my pictures. The only pictures anyone can see are the ones I choose to publish. Don't panic! I will send you an email. Hugs
Debbie, are you sure your pictures are going where all can see? I don't know much about computers and web sites either, but I have heard that it is a place where you can edit your pictures to use on your blogs and web sites, and to put together albums, but I think you have to give permission for them to be seen. Also I remember reading something about there being a limit of how many pictures you can put on your blog, for free, and if it exceeds that limit, then you have to pay a very nominal fee to picasa to continue to use them in your blog, as Picasa sponsors them. I'm not sure about all of this, but maybe it will help.

Debbie it would be better if you upload your pics to somewhere like photobucket which is free too that way it doesn't use up the space for your blog....then when you are ready to post one on your blog just get the link for it and it will be fine...there is lots of places you can get to have free storage space for your images...
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS FOR YOU TO NOT DELETE ANY PICTURES. I LOST PICTURES FROM MY BLOG THAT WAY. I BELIEVE YOU CAN KEEP YOUR PHOTOS PRIVATE ON PICASA.
