Pink Saturday: Saying Good-bye To The Dame In Pink

Thank  You  Dame  Elizabeth  Taylor  for  all

you  did  for  humanity,  the  screen  guild,  and

for  BROWN  VELVET!!!!  That  is  when  I  came

to  adore  you.

In  May  of  2000,  Queen  Elizabeth  II,

Named  you

"Dame"  Liz  Taylor.

"Reputation  is  what  men  say  about  you

on  your  tombstone.

Character  is  what  the  angels  say  about  you

before  the  throne  room  of  God."

~William  Hersey  Davis

Elizabeth  Rosemond  Taylor

Born  February  27,  1932

in

Hampstead,  London,  England,  UK

to

American  Parents.

Her  film  debut  was

"There's  One  Born  Every  Minute."

Died  Wednesday,  March  23, 2011

79  years  young

from

congestive  heart  failure

at

1:28  am,  surrounded  by  family.

YOU  WERE....

Beauty

The  first  actress  to  make  a  million  dollars

for  one  film. (of  that  time  period)

Passion

Non- Judgmental

Sense  of  Humor

Style

A Mother

Hold  the  record  for  the  most

appearances  on  the  cover  of

Life  Magazine...(11  times)

You  were  5  ft.  4  inches  tall

60  films

I  wonder,  Liz,  over  your  amazing

six-decade  career,  how  many  roses  you

received....how  many  dresses  you  owned

Did  you  take  the  roses  for  granted  or

did  you  always  appreciate  their  beauty.

I  still  say  that  the  dresses  of  the  30's,  40's,

and  50's  were  and  will  always  be  the  most

beautiful.

HAPPY  PINK  SATURDAY,  LIZ  TAYLOR.

I  think  this  dress  is  stunning.

I  love  the  sleeves  and  the  beautiful

rows  of  lace.

To  me,  in  this  picture,  she  looks  like  a

true  southern  lady.

One  last  bouquet  for  the  Dame  and  it's

"LIGHTS  OUT"

Sweet  Dreams,  Liz

Rest  in  Jesus

There  you  will  find  the  Hostess  Beverly

and  a  whole  lot  of  beautiful  pink  blogs

to  visit.

oh  me,  oh  my

it  is  back  to  reality...

chores  make  me  cry.

Thank  you  for  stopping  by  to  see  me  today.

You  are  the  best,

and  I  appreciate  you.

What a lovely dedication to the incredible, genuinely kind, and never-seemed-imprisoned-by-her-own-celebrity Elizabeth Taylor, who truly knew how to smell the roses. She most definitely mastered the art of being famous.

Not only because she was astonishingly beautiful, I will remember Elizabeth Taylor for being fun and funny, for her wise and generous heart (spokeswoman for several causes, most notably AIDS), and for being such an amazing inspiration: she never faced the day without perfume; she dressed to be noticed; and she believed you can be close to God anywhere.

AND those eyes, those incredible violet eyes...

Please come for a looksee at the lighter side of Dame Taylor on my blog page in my second tribute to her titled, Lest We Forget: My Elizabeth Taylor Tribute Continues."

Rest in Peace, Miss Taylor.

Liz was truly beautiful, wasn't she? I love the pic that is next to last - so romantic looking. Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming my "friend" - I so appreciate it. I love you blog with the prayer requests in the margin. One of my best friends is battling breast cancer. Such a horrible disease! And it is so nice to connect with a fellow Christian.

Blessings & Happy PS!

Debbie-I have to say that this post makes me feel like crying. She was such a lovely woman and I was always a bit in awe of her beauty and grace. I understood she could be a bit bawdy at times and I think that endeared her to me and made her a bit more real. I think she suffered many heartaches and disappointments in her life...and I hope she breezed through the portals of Heaven with those violet eyes wide open and said, Hello God..it's me Elizabeth..where's the stage?;>) (and where are all my husbands) A great post! xxoo Diana
