Part two...A Gorgeous Saturday and Mr. Simply brings his "pink" camera a long

WELCOME TO

KINGFISHER,  OKLAHOMA.

WE HAVE BEEN THROUGH THERE ALL OUR LIFE  AND

UNTIL   I  GOOGLED

JESSE  CHISOLM,

I  WAS  NOT  AWARE  OF  THE

HISTORY  THERE...

THE  SHADOWS  OF  HISTORICAL  EVENTS

TO  VIEW

IT  HAS  THE  ONLY  MUSEUM  IN

OKLAHOMA  LOCATED  ON  THE

CHISHOLM  TRAIL.

WE  WILL  BE  GOING  BACK  TO  DISCOVER

KINGFISHER,  OKLAHOMA

AND  FOLLOW  THE  CHISHOLM  TRAIL.

ARE  THERE  PARTS  OF  YOUR  STATE  THAT

YOU  DRIVE  THROUGH  FREQUENTLY AND

HAVE  NOT  EXPLORED.

THIS  IMPOSING  STATUE  OF

JESSE  CHISOLM

WATCHES  OVER  TRAVELERS  AT  THE  INTERSECTION

OF  SH  33  AND  81  IN  KINGFISHER.

JESSE  CHISOLM,  A  TRADER

IS  KNOWN  AS  THE

"AMBASSADOR  OF  THE  PLAINS."

I  CANNOT  DESCRIBE  THE  BEAUTY

AND  PROMINENCE

OF  THIS  STATUE.

IT  LOOKS  LIKE  IT  CAME  RIGHT  OUT  OF

THE  BUILDING  IT  IS  ATTACHED  TO

HEADED  DOWN  THE  CHISOLM  TRAIL.

IT  TAKES  YOUR  BREATH  AWAY  WHEN  YOU

FIRST  SEE  IT  AND  IT  IS  STILL  A  JOY  TO

SEE  IT  EVERY  TIME  WE  PASS  THROUGH

KINGFISHER,  OKLAHOMA.

THIS  IS  ANOTHER  MURAL  PAINTED  ON  THE  SIDE

OF  A  BUILDING  OFF  HWY  81.

WE  DIDN'T  WANT  THE  CARS  IN  THE  PICTURE,

BUT  HOW  DARE  US,  LOOK  FOR  THE  OWNERS  AND

ASK  THEM  TO  MOVE  THEIR  CARS  BECAUSE

MR.  SIMPLY,  THE  PHOTOGRAPHER  WITH  THE

PINK  CAMERA  IS  IN  TOWN  FOR  A  PHOTO

SHOOT.

NO,  I  THINK  NOT...WE  WOULD  BE  RUN  OUT  OF

TOWN  ON  THE  CHISHOLM  TRAIL

WITHOUT  A  HORSE  OR  CAR.

KINGFISHER  IS  KNOWN  AS

"THE  BUCKLE  OF  THE  WHEAT  BELT!"

KINGFISHER,  OKLAHOMA  IS

SON  TO

SAM  WALTON,

WHO  CREATED..............

WAL  MART

AND  THE  SON  TO

FAMOUS  AUTHOR  AND  POET

DON  BLANDING.

I  DO  NOT  KNOW  THE  WORK  OF  DON  BLANDING.

I  WILL  HAVE  TO  RESEARCH  HIM.

JUST  SOME  FUN  FACTS.

THAT  CONCLUDES  OUR  SATURDAY   2/12/11.

WE  HEADED  ON  TO  HENNESSEY  WHERE  WE  TOOK

KORBI  OUT  TO  EAT.

MYA:

IN  REGARDS  TO  YOUR  QUESTION  ON  POST  ONE:

MR.  SIMPLY  REMINDED  ME  THAT  WE  DIDN'T  TAKE

A  PICTURE  OF  THE  STREET  IN  FRONT  OF  THE

MURAL  WHERE  THE  TRACKS  OF  THE  TROLLEY  CAR

REMA IN.

SOMEONE  ELSE  ASK  ME  A  QUESTION  AND  I  HAVE

HAD  A  TEMPORARY  BRAIN  FREEZE  AND  CAN'T

REMEMBER.....

Isn't that just the way it always goes? We live in Lincoln land here. Lincoln's family and him were from our county and there are so many things here that surround that legacy, but we always traveled away from here to see stuff. When we finally realized there were things to do right here within a half an hour, we got around to all those wonderful places. People who live here just don't appreciate it.
I am glad that you are getting out and about with that now famous pink camera and sharing your adventures chasing murals!

When we first moved to our area we explored all around now we have settled back but need to start doing it again. Don loves the Western Channel so following the Chisolm Trail would be right up his alley.

HI Debbie,
Thanks for visiting my blog and I appreciate your sweet comment! I wanted to visit yours and I love following your travels across your state. I am not native to Alabama but I have seen much of the state. I still have so much to see with the Civil War areas here and I love traveling the two lane roads when possible.

I always carry my camera with me and I love murals as you do! Anything unusual even really, you just never know what you will find when away from the abode.

I have tears in my eyes with your blessings for those you care about. I will also add them to my prayers and thoughts!

I do have one lady very special to me if you could add her. Her name is Mary and she has Ovarian Cancer. She just has to be healed of this and is doing well although a set back a few months ago. I would very much appreciate your Blessings for her.

I will follow your blog for updates to your Blessings and your travels. I grew up in Missouri and
spent much time in the Springfield area and the lakes by Branson while growing up! I have a brother who lives in Oklahoma, around Tulsa. It is sure flat there.

Alabama has some beautifull scenery with lots of hills and trees, even the Gulf Coast! It is just Too HOT Here but today is beautiful at 58 degrees already.

It was nice to meet you Debbie and
it has been my pleasure! Your cats are beautiful and very welcoming!
Smiles, Cyndi

Thanks so much for stopping by. I am so sorry someone left an unkind comment, I like the way you write it, it's easy to read!

I am doing well, but I have a couple of prayer requests. One of my best friends had a little baby born at 23 weeks gestation. She is now at 36 weeks and still struggling. You can read about her here http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/genevievelickona

Please pray for her strength and for the stength of her parents.
Also please pray for my mom, she will be having her fourth back surgery in 3 years this Tuesday.

Thanks for all the joy you bring others.

God Bless
:) Michelle

Debbie we travel on the back roads whenever we go somewhere. There are still some areas of our state we would love to explore.
You are a true prayer warrior and we add our prayers to yours for all those in need. (())

Oh Debbie, I wrote a book here and it got deleted on preview!

I was telling you Many thanks for including "Mary" in your Blessings! You are a very special person and I wish I could type your colorful replies for easy reading.

Many had a very sudden DX of "Extra Ovarian Cancer" and has responded well to chemo but has had two rounds after having a set back. I pray her blood numbers are still better on this next Dr visit this month.

This is your blog and you can type how you like. In fact, I adore your colorful writing and it is easy for me to read also. I need glasses to help see and thank goodness they do help! My husband had tohelp me find them the other day when I knocked them off the bedside table.

I have small fiber neuropathy and can't wear shoe and socks or tight pelvic clothing! When I ask for a cushion in hard chairs most folks growl. Many healthy folks give no thought to others not as fortunate and we never think it will be us. But, we deal with it.

I am so sorry about Amy, I have no idea she was your daughter. I think I knew of her through other blogs who had her profiled. She was one very special and loved girl cut short so soon. I know she is waiting with her friends to welcome others and make it a special transition. But, I understand how your heart aches!

I hope you have a special weekend. I am going to a blue bird seminar as I have several houses in my tiny backyard and want to learn more about them before and after they leave their nests here. I would love to live by the ocean and get my toes in the sand. Hearing the surf can be so comforting. I hope to take my Daisy trailer down soon but our little SUV doesn't pull her to well. I love the two-lane roads anyway with my camera.
Smiles, Cyndi
