Part one...A Gorgeous Saturday and Mr. Simply brings his "pink" camera along

SATURDAY  WAS  SUCH  A  GORGEOUS  DAY.

MR.  SIMPLY  HAD  AN  APPOINTMENT  WITH  A  DOCTOR,

A  SPECIALIST,  IN  EL  RENO.

~~~~~~~~
WE  LIVED  IN  EL  RENO  WHEN  AMY  ATTENDED
KINDERGARTEN...  I  WENT  TO  NURSING  SCHOOL  AND
OUR  LITTLE  RICHIE  WAS  BORNED...ALL  WHILE  WE  LIVED
THERE.
~~~~~~~~

ACTUALLY  HE  WAS  BORN  AT  MERCY  HOSPITAL  IN

OKC  BY  C  SECTION  AND  BECAUSE  THEY  HAD  THE  MOST

UP  TO  DATE  NEO-NATAL  UNIT.

~~~~~~~~
I  HAVE  HAD  TO  FIGHT  FROM  THE  BIRTH  OF  EACH  OF
MY  CHILDREN  TO  KEEP  THEM  ALIVE.
~~~~~~~~

I  HAVE  CALLOUSES  ON  MY  KNEES.

~~~~~~~~
SOME  DAY  I  WILL  TELL  YOU  THE  MIRACLE  OF
RICHIE.   TODAY,  SATURDAY,  2/12/11  IS  HIS  28TH
BIRTHDAY.
~~~~~~~~

THE  FIRST  THREE  PICTURES  ARE  THE  ENTIRE

PICTURE  PAINTED  ON  THE  WALL   OF  A

BUILDING  IN  DOWN  TOWN,  HISTORIC

EL  RENO,  OKLAHOMA.

~~~~~~~~
WHEN  YOU  STAND  AND  LOOK  AT  THIS  AWESOME
MURAL,  IT  JUST  SEEMS  TO  COME  ALIVE.
~~~~~~~~

MR.  SIMPLY  WAS  SHOOTING  INTO  THE  SUN

ALTHOUGH  THE  BUILDING  WAS  CASTING  SHADE.

HIS  GREATEST  WISH  IS  TO  BE  ABLE  TO  BUY  A

REAL  NICE  CAMERA  AND  TAKE  PHOTOGRAPHY

CLASSES.

~~~~~~~~
I  LOVE  ART  AND  PHOTOGRAPHY  SO  MUCH,
I  COULD  TURN  MY  HOUSE  INTO  AN  ART
COTTAGE  AND  HAVE  MINIMALIST  FURNITURE.
IT  DOESN'T  SHOW  REAL  WELL  HERE,  BUT  THERE
IS  A  BEAUTIFUL  VICTORIAN  LADY  IN  THE  BOTTOM
CORNER  WITH  A  BEAUTIFUL  GREEN  LACE
UMBRELLA.
I  LOVE  THAT  UMBRELLA  AND  IT  LOOKS
LIKE  SHE  IS  ON  A  STROLL  WITH  HER  SON.
THE  CHURCH  IS  GORGEOUS.   I  WOULD
HAVE  LOVED  TO  HAVE  WORSHIPPED  THERE.
THIS  IS  SOOOOO  VERY  REAL.
IT  LOOKS  LIKE  THEY  ARE  JUST  GOING  TO  WALK
OUT  OF  THE  PICTURE.
THE  DOG  IS  SOOOO HANDSOME.
IN  THE  LEFT  HAND  CORNER  ARE  3  CHILDREN
THAT  DON'T  FIT  IN  THE  HISTORICAL  SETTING...
THEY  ARE  THE  CHILDREN  OF  THE  ARTIST,  AND  I
THOUGHT  IT  WAS  WONDERFUL  THEY  WERE  PLACED
IN  THE  PICTURE...THEY  WILL  ALWAYS  REMEMBER
THAT  TIME.
TWO  STREETS  DOWN  FROM  THIS  BUILDING  IS
AN  AWESOME  THRIFT  STORE.  I  RESENT  THE  FACT
I  DID  NOT  GO  OUT  TO  THE  CAR  AND  GET  THE
CAMERA.
THE  ENTIRE  CEILING  WAS  MOLDED  TIN  PAINTED
GOLD...STUNNING...STUNNING  CEILING  WITH  ELEGANT
CHANDELIERS...NOT  FOR  SALE  THOUGH.   IT  WAS
SO  RELAXING  JUST  TO  WALK  AROUND  AND  LOOK.
SOME  THINGS  WERE  VERY  OVERPRICED...BUT
I  DID  GET  A  VALENTINE  SURPRISE  I  WILL
CHERISH  FOREVER.   THAT  IS  FOR
  PINK  SATURDAY.
I  LOVED  THE  PINK  THAT  SHOWED  UP  IN  THIS
PICTURE,  BUT  MR.  SIMPLY  GROWLED...
"IT  IS  NOT  SUPPOSE  TO  BE  THERE!"
I  THINK  IT  IS  A  HEAVENLY  LIGHT.
~~~~~~~~

MR.  SIMPLY  HAS  BEEN  TAKING  PHOTOGRAPHS

WITH  OUR  DAUGHTERS  PINK  CAMERA.....

OUR  CAMERA  IS  WONDERFUL  BUT  IF  IT  GOES

OFF,  YOU  HAVE  TO  CHANGE  THE  DATE  AND

THE  MOMENT  YOU  WANTED  TO  SHOOT  MAY  BE

GONE.

~~~~~~~~
AMY'S  CAMERA  DOES  NOT  DO  THAT  AND  HE
FEELS  CLOSE  TO  HER  WHEN  HE  USES  IT.
ANY  ONE  WHO  HAS  DRIVEN
  HIGHWAY  81  THROUGH  EL  RENO,  PASSES
THIS  MURAL  PAINTED  ON  A  WALL.
WE  I  HAVE  WANTED  TO  TAKE  A  PICTURE  OF
THIS  FOR  YEARS.
IT  LOOKS  LIKE  THE  CAR  IS  DRIVING  RIGHT  OUT
OF  THE  PICTURE.
EVERY  ONE  KNOWS  ROUTE  66.
AND  KEEP  YOU  IN  HIS  LOVING  ARMS.
THANK  YOU  FOR  BRIGHTENING  MY  DAY
BY  STOPPING  BY  TO  SEE  ME.
I  HOPE  YOU  ENJOYED  THE  CHERRY  COBBLER,
  COFFEE,  AND/OR  HOT  TEA.
SEE  YA  AT  PART  TWO.
HAVE  A  SUGAR  SWEET  DAY
Love the murals, we have some in Charleston, our next big town. They do look like the people could just pop right out of them. There are several around the square that were done very, very well.
I'm not sure where El Reno is. I will have to look it up.
Many, many, many years ago, I lived in Weatherford. Just for a month, but have been there 4 or 5 times. My ex-sister in law was in the hospital at the City when she was pregnant with her 2nd one and was having problems with her kidneys.
I was impressed with the hospital there. I also like the stores that had initials- TG something.
My dad's aunt and her family live on the reservation there.
I remember the turnpikes to get there- ugh! Miles of nothing.
My great uncle Jack and his family lived in Tulsa forever.
Love the pink glow in the one photo.
Hugs- Tete
It was the first time to have fried okra- loved it and to see horny toads- not a favorite.
That is some big mural. I love to see things like that. I wonder if that area used to have street cars or if this scene is from the artists imagination. Very pretty - I guess you want to stop, look and figure out what these people are about. I am a nosey person .
Really enjoyed the pictures - tell your husband , "Thank you."
Thanks for sharing such interesting pictures and history of El Reno. I remember passing through there when we lived in the TX panhandle, but I don't remember any of the particulars. The murals are just spectacular, and I'm happy to hear that you found a treasure at the thrift shoppe while you were there.
Hugs from heidi
Hi Debbie
So very nice to meet you! I just wanted to take a moment to thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving such nice comments. I'm so very sorry for the loss of your precious daughter. Even though I know you take comfort in the fact that she lives in paradise and her health now made perfect by God, As a mother I can't imagine how hard it must have been to let her go. You are a very strong woman indeed.
On a lighter note, your kitties are wonderful! Actually they look alot like our cats, I will have to post pictures so you can see. We have 4 cats total and we like to call them our therapy cats as my oldest child Liam age 11 has really bonded with them. Because of his Autism he has problems connecting to people, but for some reason he completely bonds with cats. From the day he got his first kitten "Jasper" who looks very much like your "Walker" he was smitten. As a matter of fact I just checked in on Liam to see if he was asleep and Jasper was cuddled up with him asleep. It's so sweet! Now we have 4 cats it's just amazing to see how much he and the cats connect!
You blog is just wonderful, I've added myself to your followers so I can keep up with your posts.
Take care and have a wonderful week!
