XOXO...AMY...XOXO
ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS
Today I received a phone call from my
mother. She was at work and had received a
phone call from my friend of 30 years,
BONNIE.
Bonnie told mother that she was in the hospital
and needed to talk with me.
I called Bonnie and said,
"SOME PEOPLE WILL DO ANYTHING
FOR ATTENTION."
Bonnie has ovarian cancer. I wanted to throw up!
How much grief is one family to endure...just how
much...enough is enough.
Let me tell you about Bonnie and me.
We met working as nurses aides at St. Mary's
Hospital. My Amy was just three years old and
she had two children:
Bradley, was 8 years old
and
Angela was 4 years old.
As life would have it, we moved away and I
went to nursing school. Then when Amy was 7
years old, we had Richie.
Now both of us had a son and a daughter.
Only my daughter was the oldest and her son
was the oldest. We were blessed.
As life sometimes "betrays" us so it seems,
my husband lost his job in the big natural gas
lay-off. He has never been the same to this day.
We moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma to attend
Rhema Bible College. We lost everything we owned
except our car in the lay-off...and it didn't work
out to go to Bible college as we went through our
savings very quick and had nothing left to survive on.
Less than 2 years later, Amy was diagnosed with
a football size tumor in her abdomen called
rhabdomyosarcoma. She was 10 1/2 years old.
We went to the NATALIE B WARREN CANCER
INSTITUTE at St. Francais Hospital in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. It was one of these hospital
stays I thought I heard a familiar voice across
the hallway.
It was Bonnie, and Bradley was in the hospital.
Bradley and Angela both had Cystic Fibrosis.
There were several times over Amy's 4 years of
treatment they were in the hospital together and
Bradley could make Amy laugh.
Amy and I attended Angela's funeral together. She
had a bad husband and after a long battle Bonnie
and her husband received full parental
custody of Angela's son, their grandson...and
his dad has never wanted to see him.
Amy and I did not attend Bradley's funeral.
I was in the hospital.
Bonnie and her husband have had both their
children go to heaven. They have their
precious grandson.
To give up one child is unbearable but
to say good-bye for now to both of your
children is just unacceptable to me.
I think of JESUS in the Garden of Gethsemane
every time I feel like life has dealt me, my family,
or friends unfairly.
I ask you Jesus to comfort my friend Bonnie, with
your peace Lord. She is so very afraid. Let her
sleep in peace Lord as her body needs rest. I pray
for healing Lord and strength to run her race.
Bless her and her husband Richard and their precious
grandson.
Thank you Sweet Jesus. The name above all names.
STAY STRONG BONNIE! I LOVE YOU.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIRELESS WORK
IN COMPASSIONATE FRIENDS AND ALL THE
SUPPORT TO THOSE WHO HAVE HAD CHILDREN
GRADUATE TO HEAVEN.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY ROY AND ELISABETH.
PLEASE GO TO:

STAY STRONG ROY AND ELISABETH.
I LOVE YOU AND MANY, MANY PEOPLE ARE
PRAYING FOR YOU.
I HATE cancer...it is such a coward...lurking and hiding
Thank you for joining me and Gracie Ann today.

Dear Miss D...Sweet friend...what can I even say? I'm overwhelmed with this news and just HOW it must be affecting you.
I know this to be true...
God puts people in our path to be prayer warriors for us. And he put us in the paths of others so we may in turn be prayer warriors for them.
This very moment I'm raising up Bonnie to the Lord Jesus and asking Him for mercy and grace for your sweet friend.
He is able.
Yes!
He IS able.
Love you~Rebecca
Life can be so sad at times but knowing our reward is when we leave this life is what brings us peace, knowing we will be with those we love again, as God promised.
