WELCOME TO SIMPLY DEBBIE

THE NEW YEAR IS JUST HOURS AWAY.
2010
I THOUGHT A LOT ABOUT THE NEW YEAR COMING UP.
IT IS A NEW BOOK WITH EMPTY PAGES. WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY
TO WRITE THOSE PAGES AS WE MIGHT. GOD HAS THE ULTIMATE
DECISION FOR SOME THINGS AND WE CAN NOT CHANGE THAT......
BUT WE CAN CHOOSE TO BE CARING, HELPFUL, PRODUCTIVE, AND
ENCOURAGING TO THOSE AROUND US WHO ARE HURTING. HELP
THE PERSON WHO IS BROKE DOWN AT THE STOP SIGN INSTEAD OF
CURSING HIM/HER BECAUSE THEY HAVE SLOWED US DOWN.
IT WILL BE DIFFICULT TO GO ON WITH AMY IN HEAVEN EVEN
THOUGH IT SHOULD BE EASIER KNOWING SHE IS PAIN FREE AND SAFE.
I AM HOPING THIS NEW BLOG, SIMPLY DEBBIE, IS MY NEW START.
I WANT TO WISH ALL 248 PLUS BLOGGERS THAT WERE WITH ME,
HUGGING ME, LOVING MY FAMILY ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE GOING
HOME OF OUR BELOVED AMY DAWN. I COULD NOT HAVE MADE IT
WITHOUT YOU, MY FRIENDS. I PRAY FOR EVERYONE OF YOU EVERY DAY.
PRAYERS WILL CONTINUE AT SIMPLY DEBBIE BECAUSE THAT IS WHO I AM.
RING OUT THE OLD, RING IN THE NEW,
RING, HAPPY BELLS, ACROSS THE SNOW:
THE YEAR IS GOING, LET HIM GO;
RING OUT THE FALSE, RING IN THE TRUE
~ALFRED, LORD TENNYSON, 1850
WE HAVE A BIG SCHOOL BELL IN OUR BACK YARD HIGH A TOP A RAILROAD
TIE CEMENTED INTO THE GROUND. I ALSO BOUGHT ONE JUST LIKE
IT SEVERAL YEARS AGO FOR MY PARENTS.....THEY RANG THEIRS' 50 TIMES
ON THEIR 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. WE RING OUR BELL ON THE 4TH OF
JULY AND AT MIDNIGHT ON NEW YEARS EVE. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN A
PIZZA ROLL NIGHT FOR AMY AND RICHIE. WE WOULD RENT MOVIES
AND GAMES AND WERE ALWAYS TOGETHER EXCEPT FOR A FEW YEARS
AMY HAD PARTIES TO ATTEND.
TONIGHT RICHIE WANTS TO EAT PIZZA ROLLS IN HER MEMORY AND WE
ARE GOING TO WATCH MOVIES AND PLAY CARDS AND AT 12 MIDNIGHT
WE ARE GOING TO RING THE BELL 33 TIMES.
I HAVE ONE URGENT PRAYER REQUEST..........AN ANGEL NAMED
SHARON WHO HAD HER HUSBAND PASS TO HEAVEN JUST TWO HOURS
BEFORE AMY PASSED IS NOW IN A FIGHT FOR HER LIFE WITH THE
SAME CANCER AS AMY HAD. WE JUST LIFT YOU UP TO GODS' THRONE
ROOM OF MERCY AND GRACE AND KNOW HE WILL TOUCH YOU WITH
HIS HEALING.

Hi Debbie~ so nice that you stopped by and I love your new blog, I hope it brings you peace and joy in the new year. Not sure what this new year will bring for me, I recently had to give up my job due to a herniated disc and my son joined the Army under delayed enlistment, he will ship out in June. I'm hoping for the strength to "let go" of him when the time comes, but my heart is full of worry. I hope we can all move forward in this new year and find comfort and happiness! Happy New Year sweetie and hugs, Carmen

Dear, dear Debbie,

You are so sweet and GOD BLESS YOU! You took me by surprise because I know another Debbie but when you mentioned about your daughter, it confused me. However, I am so very sorry to hear of her passing, but it is beautiful to see that you are a believer....so am I. Wow, what can I say but that your comments are such a blessing to my soul and what a wonderful way to ring in the new year with salutations and genuine wishes for success and LOVE...the LOVE OF GOD! Dearest Debbie, I lost both my parents to that dreaded disease about 22 years ago and it tore me apart, HOWEVER, God kept my foot from slipping over the edge of despair and to this day, HE is the reason I live on....I know that you are too. How did you find me? I am so happy that my post encouraged you. God is the voice, we are His typists!!!!! He dictates, we listen and type. May your new year be an opportunity to make what your daughter left with you, an inspiration for the world. Please come back and visit my husband's blog...he has an academic mind, an artist's heart and a wit beyond words. Blessings, Anita

Wow, you are telling a powerful story and I am happy to meet you.
I like handwritten letters too. Where will all of the future books of "The Collected Letters of Martha Washington" type come from? "The Collected emails" lacks the depth and panache :)

May the Heavenly Father "smile" on this new blog and bring you new and unexpected joys in 2010. The header is "simply" beautiful! I look forward to seeing lush leaves and fruit on those trees as the seasons change - just as surely as God brings beauty out of our ashes. Happy New Year.

This is my first visit to your blog. May I offer belated sympathy to you on the loss of your daughter.....I can imagine the pain you have suffered. I lost my hubby 4 years ago and I am still sad, but I too know that he is in the arms of my precious Almighty God. I miss him every day, but God is good and I am blessed with a wonderful family and many friends. May you look forward to this new year knowing how blessed you are that your precious daughter in in Heaven and not hurting any more. I know we will never get over the loss of one we love, but how blessed we are that we know God and our loved ones did too.....I will keep your friend Sharon in my prayers...Hugs......Pauline

Your new blog is beautiful Debbie. So fresh and clean. I hope it becomes the fresh start you so desire in the coming year.I will say a prayer for Sharon, she seems to be having more than her share of troubles. Sometimes it's so hard to hear that God does not give us more than we can handle. Happy New Year Debbie, I hope is brings you peace.

*sigh* I wanted to be your very first follower, but already many others have flocked to you, m'dear -- who wouldn't flock to your beautiful heart and gracious mind?

I am glad to see this new start. Not that There's An Angel On My Front Porch was not a beautiful blog -- it stands in testament to Amy's courage and beauty and faith. But a new start, YES. We must go on, sometimes one weary or sad step at a time, but onwards, onwards, onwards; take heart that time is not carrying us AWAY from our loved ones who are gone, but TOWARDS where they are now.

Happy 2010 Debbie!!!

What a nice clean look to your blog.
And a clean NEW YEAR...we all have ahead of us.
Amy would be proud of your progress with your grief journey.

Thank you for coming by and asking about my daughter, she MAY be able to come home from the hosptial today in fact...she is not 100% sure she is ready, but she is tired of the hosptial for sure, and the Doctor thinks she is ready. Been there since CHRISTAMS DAY !
She has really had a rough time of it since her surgery.

I have indeed joined your new blog and look forward to your posts and images.

GOD'S BLESSINGS ON YOU AND YOUR NEW BLOG.
