BUBBLEGUM AND DUCTTAPE

There is a wonderful blogger by

the name of Maria.

Her blog is called

BUBBLEGUM AND DUCT TAPE.

Maria is beyond talented...she is

running over with ideas...and I might

humbly brag that the mayor of her town

follows her blog.

A couple months back Maria gave a

tutorial on how to make a miniature

book necklace.

You will find it here at

2011/04/miniature-book-pendant-tutorial_

27.html.

I was the blessed soul of one of her

beautiful, miniature book pendants.

Being the sweetie, she is, she said I could

choose any book I wanted.

She told me if I wanted, she would even

make me a Bible.

I chose the Bible...even though I have

failed the Lord so many times, I still try

to live my life according to His Holy Word.

Please look at the detailed stitching around

this miniature, tiny Bible and it has pages

inside, that if you write very small, you

can write your favorite scripture.

Maria, it is just beautiful.

You are awesome.

I loved looking at your recent pictures

of the rain from the train.

I love pictures of the different cities

skylines and yours are gorgeous.

And keep you in his loving arms.

My prayers continue to be with the

flood victims, the tornado victims and

those who have lost their loved ones.

I pray everyone that lives in these

flooding areas will be able, one day,

to raise their

house on stilts like the farmer and his son

did.

They say once you live a long the river

there is no other place to live.

I think I can believe that. When we

were coming home from a camp meeting,

many years ago,

we stopped to eat in Louisville,

Kentucky and had lunch at a restaurant

open to the river.

I felt like Tammy and wanted to find

her house boat on the river. I loved

watching the big boats go down the river...

it was awesome and comforting at the same

time.

Excuse me...I had a happy memory there

for a moment.

My prayers continue for every man, woman,

and child...battling cancer...THEY ARE HEROES.

We had a young man from our town,

Austin Box,

Star player on the University of Oklahoma

football team...

22 years old...

found dead at the home of a friend

in El Reno, Oklahoma.

I won't say what he died from because

the autopsy reports are not in...

His family is devastated.

The funeral is Thursday, May 26, 2011.

Please remember them in your prayers.

You are very special and I love it when

you stop by for a visit.

MANY HUGS

I'm going to have to hop over and visit Maria's blog. Thanks for pointing me in her directions. I, too, have kept the flood and tornado victims in my prayers. So much devastation - so very sad. But God has a plan. We heard about the death of Austin Box. My prayers are with his family also. Last, but not least - I have a dear blogger friend, Susan (Penless Writer), who lost her lovely daughter, Suzette, to cancer just day before yesterday. Please keep Susan and her family in your prayers. Thank you.
