HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

XO.AMY.XO
ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS

HAPPY  MOTHER'S  DAY

ROSES  FOR  MOTHER'S  DAY

THIS  IS  MY  MOTHER,

PEGGY  ANN  CHOATE  ROGERS

I  COULD  TELL  SO  MANY  STORIES  ABOUT

MOTHER.  LAST  YEAR  I  TOLD  YOU  ALL  ABOUT

HER  BEING  A  MONITOR  TECH  FOR  OVER  30

YEARS.   SHE  IS  ONE  OF  THE  HARDEST  WORKING

PEOPLE,  NEXT  TO  DADDY,  I  KNOW...AND  SHE

STILL  IS  A  MONITOR  TECH  WORKING  4,  12  HOUR

SHIFTS  A  WEEK.

I  CAN  STILL  SEE  HER  MAKING  OUR  LUNCHES

FOR  SCHOOL  AND  SHE  WOULD  TAPE  A  DIME

IN  THE  LID  OF  OUR  LUNCH  PAIL  FOR  OUR  MILK

MONEY.

ONE  DAY,  AS  I  WAS  PACKING  MY  OWN

CHILDREN'S  LUNCHES,  AND  I  WAS  BUSILY  TAPING

THEIR  MILK  MONEY (.35 CENTS,  I  MIGHT

ADD)  IN  THE  LID  OF  THEIR  LUNCH

BOXES,  I  HAD  TO  LAUGH....I  REALIZED  I

WAS  DOING  THE  VERY  SAME  THING  MY

MOTHER  HAD  DONE  FOR  YEARS.

MY MOTHER  IS  A  LOVER  OF  ANIMALS

THERE  WAS  A  COUPLE  WHO  USE  TO  LIVE

BEHIND  THEM  AND  THEIR  LITTLE  DOG  WAS

A  FENCE  CLIMBER  AND  WOULD  ALWAYS  GET

OUT.  ONE  DAY  THE  DOG  CATCHER  WAS  AFTER

THIS  LITTLE  DOG  AND  SHE  POLITELY  WALKED

UP  TO  THE  DOG...PICKED  HIM  UP  AND  STARTED

WALKING  WITH  THE  DOG......ALL  THE  WHILE  THE

DOG  CATCHER  KEPT  YELLING,  "IS  THAT  YOUR

DOG?"  AND  SHE  YELLED  BACK,  "NO,  BUT  IT

ISN'T  YOUR  DOG  EITHER!"  AND  SHE  PUT  THE

LITTLE  DOG  BACK  IN  THE  FENCE.

MY  BROTHER,  MY  SISTER,  AND  I  GOT  OUR

LOVE  FOR  FLOWER  GARDENING  FROM  MOTHER.

I  RECEIVED  MY  LOVE  OF  ROCKS  FOR  THE

YARD  FROM  MY  MOTHER.   SHE  LOOKS  OVER

A  ROCK  THAT  IS  GOING  IN  HER  FLOWER  BEDS

AS  THE  AVERAGE  WOMAN  WOULD  DIAMONDS.

IT  HAS  TO  BE  THE  RIGHT  COLOR,  AN  ODD

SHAPE,  AND  JUST  THE  RIGHT  SIZE.  USUALLY

ONE  THAT  WEIGHED  "A  LOT"

SHE  IS  A  CHRISTIAN  AND  WROTE  IN  MY

FIRST  BIBLE,  "FEAR  NOT  TOMORROW  FOR

GOD  IS  ALREADY  THERE!"  LOVE,  MOTHER

THOSE  WORDS  HAVE  HELPED  ME  A  LOT

DURING  SITUATIONS  IN  MY  LIFE.

SHE  LOVES  JEWELRY,  ESPECIALLY  DIAMONDS

AND  TURQUOISE.   SHE  IS  A  WONDERFUL  COOK,

ALWAYS  HAS  TIME  TO  TALK  TO  YOU,  AND  LOVES

HER  FAMILY  AND  GETTING  TOGETHER.  SHE  LOVES

GOING  TO  THRIFT  SHOPS  AND  DOESN'T  LIKE

ESTATE  SALES,  BECAUSE  THEY  ARE  TOO

EXPENSIVE.  SHE  DOES  NOT  LIKE  TO  TRAVEL.

SHE  HAS  STARTED  QUILTING  AND  HAS

COMPLETED  TWO  QUILTS.

ONE  OF  MOTHER'S  FONDEST  MEMORIES  WHEN

SHE  WAS  JUST  A  LITTLE  GIRL  WAS  GIVING

HERSELF  A  HAIRCUT  AND  THEN  CRYING  BECAUSE

THE  DOG  WOULD  NOT  EAT  HER  HAIR.  SHE  SAID

SHE  GUESSED  THAT  IF  THE  EVIDENCE  OF  THE

HAIR  WAS  GONE,  NO  ONE  WOULD  NOTICE  HER

PATCHY  HAIRCUT.

THE  OTHER  MEMORY  SHE  TALKS  ABOUT  IS

LOVING  TO  WALK  BAREFOOT  IN  THE  FIELD

AS  HER  FATHER  PLOWED.  SHE  SAID  SHE  LOVED

THE  SMELL  OF  THE  FRESHLY  PLOWED  DIRT

AND  THAT  IT  WAS  COOL  TO  HER  FEET.

THERE  ARE  SO  MANY  THINGS  ABOUT  MOTHER

I  LOVE.  SO  MANY  MEMORIES...VERY  HYSTERICAL

FUNNY

TIMES  AND  VERY  SAD  TIMES  BUT  THROUGH  IT

ALL,  MOTHER  HAS  BEEN  THE  ROCK  OF  THE

FAMILY.  SHE  MADE  A    HOUSE  A  "HOME."

HAPPY  MOTHER'S  DAY  MOTHER.

  I  LOVE  YOU.

HAPPY  MOTHER'S  DAY

IRENE  RAGAN

MY  MOTHER  IN  LOVE

LAST  YEAR  I  TOLD  YOU  HOW  SHE  WAS

A  KINDERGARTEN  TEACHER  FOR  YEARS.

ONE  THING  I  SO  FONDLY  REMEMBER  IS  TAKING

AMY  TO  HER  CLASS  ROOM  AFTER  SCHOOL  AND

WATCHING  AMY  PLAY  IN  THE  LITTLE  KITCHEN

AREA.

IRENE  IS  A  CANCER  SURVIVOR  OF  BREAST

AND  LUNG  CANCER.  SHE  KNOWS  THE  PAIN  OF

A  CHILD  DYING.  HER  FIRST  BORN  SON  GRADUATED

TO  HEAVEN  AFTER  A  BATTLE  WITH  CANCER.

SHE  IS  A  CHRISTIAN  AND  LOVES  LISTENING

TO  THE  THE  GAITHER'S.   WHEN  SHE  IS  IN

PAIN  SHE  CAN  PUT  ON  A  GAITHER  TAPE  AND

IT  RELAXES  HER.  THE  TAPES  ARE  THE

GAITHER'S  HOMECOMING...PRECIOUS  MEMORIES.

WHEN  YOU  GO  TO  VISIT,  THEY  ARE  SUCH A

GRACIOUS  HOSTESS.  HER  HOME  CONTAINS

PIECES  AND  MEMORIES  OF  THEIR  PARENTS,

CHILDREN,  AND  MOST  OF  ALL  HER  GRAND-

CHILDREN  AND  ONE  GREAT  GRANDSON.

I  LOVE  TO  LISTEN  TO  HER  TALK  ABOUT

HOW  THINGS  WERE  WHEN  SHE  WAS  YOUNG.

SHE  USED  TO  RIDE  IN  HER  FATHER'S  MODEL

T    AND  HELPED  HIM  TEACH  SCHOOL.

HE  ALWAYS  CALLED  HER  BABE.

HAPPY  MOTHER'S  DAY,  IRENE

I  LOVE  YOU

HAPPY  MOTHER'S  DAY,  LADIES.

MAY  IT  BE  A  DAY  FULL  OF  LOVE  AND

NEW  MEMORIES.

A  BIG  THANK  YOU  TO  ALL  OF  YOU  WHO

SENT  ME  E-MAILS.  IT  WAS  A  TOUGH  NIGHT

FOR  ME  LAST  NIGHT  AS  I  SO  WANTED  TO

SEE  AMY...IT  JUST  ISN'T  GOING  TO  HAPPEN

UNTIL  I  GRADUATE  TO  HEAVEN.  SOME  THINGS

ARE  JUST  TOUGH...GIVING  BACK  A  CHILD,  A

PRICELESS  GIFT,  THAT  IS  ONLY  LOANED  TO

US,  IS  DIFFICULT  ON  THE  BEST  DAY.

WHEN  YOUR  CHILD  IS  GONE  FROM  THIS  EARTH

YOU  DON'T  JUST  STOP  BEING  A  MOTHER.

LOVE  AND  HUGS

Debbie, you are so good-hearted. Don't know what to say much, except that I love all that you write, all that you are. You were the best mom to Amy and of course to Richie.

Morning Debbie,
What a lovely lovely post. It was a wise thing to pour yourself into honoring your Mom's, a wise way to cope. I know yesterday had to be a very hard day for you, I am so thankful you know the Lord of glory, but I know even knowing Him, the pain is still fresh and real. Although you grieve, it is not a grief without hope. Know I care and know I am praying for you hon.
Blessings, Nellie

Debbie, your heart is so obvious in your words, and those ladies are so blessed to have YOU in their lives. They are obviously very special, too.

What a loving tribute!

I have been thinking of you, and I hope and pray that you are doing okay. I know it must have been hard yesterday, and I send warm hugs across the miles. I ended up with a raging headache after working all day in the St. A. yard, and I slept for over 12 hours. I still feel kind of funky, but I got up and made myself blog. I'm so glad I read this because it gave me a glimpse at those you love so dearly.

XO,

Sheila

Dearest Debbie,

You were in my thoughts so much yesterday and I am only getting around to writing you today. (I was working all day yesterday) Dear friend, I know that yesterday was hard for you. I can't begin to imagine the pain on your first Mother's Day without Amy by your side. But she is with you, my friend. She is with you.

Your tribute to your Mother is so lovely. You have an amazing family.

What a heart felt beautiful post and tribute to the special women in your life!
I really feel for you, Debby.
No mother should EVER have to lose a child and no mother should ever have to outlive our children. But somehow , it is God's plan and this is what he has chosen for you and so many others.
Please know that you are always in my thoughts!
