In Vatican City today Pope Benedict XVI
announced he will resign 2/28/13.
The first Pontiff to do so in nearly
600 years.
"After having repeatedly examined my
conscience before God, I have come to
the certainty that my strengths due to
advanced age are no longer suited to
an adequate exercise of the Petrine
Ministry," he told the cardinals.
We must pray for Pope Benedict XVI,
the new Pope and the Catholic Body
of Christ..
I don't know what the terms are in the
Catholic Church but in the Baptist
church they pick a committee...there is a
committee for everything.
I just know that the POPE did not
come to this decision lightly as he
knows how it will not only affect the
Catholic Church but the world.
Watching Fox News, there were many
questions, like where will he live?
They said that he would be living on
the grounds where sisters used to live.
The monastary has been redecorated and he
will live there alone, where he will
read and pray.
I thought this poem was somehow
appropriate for all, not just the Pope,
in their latter years.
WINTER...
by~Ruth Stout
There is a privacy about it which no
other season gives you.
In Spring, Summer, and Fall
people sort of have an open season
on each other;
ONLY in the WINTER, in the country,
you can have longer, quieter stretches
When you can savor belonging to
yourself.
Hugs and Prayers
